The Borella Police have informed the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court that a suspect who was remanded in connection with the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks had died while receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital on Tuesday (4) afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as 42 year old resident of Church Road in Kalmunai.
He had been admitted to the Prison Hospital on November 23 and had been transferred to the Colombo National Hospital on December 4. The police had notified the court that he had died while receiving treatment.
He is said to have been suffering from a kidney ailment.
