Today is the 355th Prakash Parv of the 10th Guru of Sikhs, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. Amidst the coronavirus pandemic, people are celebrating Prakash Parv with precautions.
Permission has been granted to go to the Gurdwara to pay obeisance on the Prakash Parv of Guru Gobind Singh. The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has issued a directive to allow this despite the weekend curfew on Sunday. Admission will not be possible without masks, sanitizers and thermal screening.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated the countrymen on Prakash Parva.
“Greetings on the Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. His life and message give strength to millions of people. I will always cherish the fact that our Government got the opportunity to mark his 350th Parkash Utsav. Sharing some glimpses from my visit to Patna at that time,” PM Modi posted on Twitter.
Guru Gobind Singh’s birthday on Prakash Parv is celebrated not only in the whole country but also abroad by the followers of Sikh religion with joy. On this auspicious occasion, Guru Granth Sahib is recited in Gurdwaras.
Guru Gobind Singh had ended the Guru tradition by declaring Guru Granth Sahib as the Guru of Sikhs. For this he had founded the Khalsa cult. Guru Gobind Singh is known as a saint as well as a protector of the Hindu religion or Sanatan Dharma, a great and heroic warrior.
