Jammu and Kashmir: BSF warns Pakistan Rangers against inciting terrorism at LoC

Jammu:

The Border Security Force (BSF) has strongly objected to Pakistan trying to smuggle weapons across the Line of Control (LoC) and trying to infiltrate terrorists.

In a flag meeting of sector commander level held in the Suchetgarh sector of Jammu district today, i.e. Wednesday, the Border Security Force (BSF) has warned Pakistan against trying to infiltrate terrorists and weapons across the LoC.

DIG Surjit Singh Sekhon, who was leading the 11-member contingent of the Border Security Force (BSF), raised the issue of banning the activities of terrorists across the LoC as well as inciting terrorism by Pakistan with the help of drones.

Brigadier Fahad, Sector Commander, Sialkot Sector, Pakistan Rangers, led the 10-member Pakistan team.

During the meeting, the Border Security Force (BSF) expressed strong displeasure following the seizure of arms at the LoC in Ramgarh on January 3 and strongly objected to terrorist activities near the Pakistan Rangers’ check posts.

On the other hand, as usual, this time too, Pakistan chanted the tune of not having any information about the terrorist activities taking place in its territory.

However, in this first sector commune level flag meeting held in the new year, both sides assured each other that full cooperation would be maintained in maintaining peace on the international border. In the meantime, they will take each other into confidence before conducting any development-related activities at the demarcated border.

It was also decided in the meeting that such sector commander level flag meetings would be held from time to time to resolve any kind of issue at the border. In this meeting held at the level of sector commander which was held in a cordial atmosphere, it was decided that peace would be maintained on the border by cooperating with each other.

At present, there is a ceasefire on the border between the two countries. Even though Pakistan is not indulging in cross-border firing, the infrastructure for inciting cross-border terrorism remains intact. Under these circumstances, two intruders have been killed on the border in Jammu since December 2021 while trying to cross the border into Indian territory.
