There has been a major militant attack in the Balochistan province of Pakistan. It is reported that at least 10 soldiers of the Pakistan Army were killed in this terrorist attack.
Apart from this, one
militant
was killed and several others were injured. The Pakistan Army’s media wing said in a statement that the incident took place on the intervening night of January 25 to 26.
Major General Babar Iftikhar, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said in a statement issued on Thursday that a security check post in the Kech district of Balochistan was attacked by
militant
s. He informed that at least 10 soldiers of the Pakistan Army have been killed in this attack.
The Pakistan Army in its statement also said that one
militant
was killed in the encounter, while several others were injured.
By the end of the military operation, the security forces had captured three terrorists alive. The Pakistan Army said that no insurgent or
militant
group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.
Significantly, Balochistan province, bordering Iran and Afghanistan, has remained a stronghold of violent insurgency for a long time.
Baloch insurgent groups have carried out several attacks in the past targeting China-Pakistan Economic Corridor projects in the region.
