Ariyaratne was posthumously awarded the Prestigious Legendary Social Entrepreneur Award by the Global CEO Forum recently in recognition of his lifelong commitment to community empowerment and peace-building. Neetha Ariyaratne, the widow of the Sarvodaya founder, collected the award from Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.
