There are several unresolved issues at the recently opened German-Sri Lanka Friendship New Women's Hospital in Karapitiya, Galle, causing inconvenience to both staff and patients, including pregnant women seeking services.

According to hospital sources, challenges include inadequate water drainage in toilets, insufficient storage facilities, a lack of designated areas for hospital assistants to change clothes, inadequate restrooms for drivers and inadequate facilities for the Police post.

Affected parties urge responsible individuals to address these issues promptly. In response to inquiries about these concerns, Minister of Health and Industries, Dr. Ramesh Pathirana, said, "While there are some deficiencies in the system within a few months of the hospital's opening, these issues can be rectified. The hospital aims to provide high-quality treatment to patients."

Hospital Director, Dr. Somarathne Konara confirmed that a thorough assessment of the hospital's problems has been conducted and measures are being taken to address them promptly.
