Navy continues flood relief operations in Western, Southern and Sabaragamuwa Provinces

<p>Amidst severe adverse weather conditions, the Navy has deployed its relief teams to aid flood-affected communities in the Western, Southern, and Sabaragamuwa provinces. The teams are currently conducting relief operations in Colombo, Kalutara, Ratnapura, Galle, and Matara districts, using boats to rescue stranded individuals and provide for their daily needs.</p>
<p>As of yesterday morning (03) the Navy managed to rescue 36 individuals. In addition, naval personnel also provided safe transportation to approximately. 400 persons and distributed meals and water to those in need.</p>
<p>Thirty three Navy teams are currently engaged in relief duties in affected areas. Accordingly, six teams in Kaduwela, Meethotamulla, Seethawaka and Hanwella areas of the Colombo district, eight teams in Baduraliya, Bulathsinhala, Ingiriya and Welipenna areas of the Kalutara district, one team in Kalawana of the Ratnapura district, six teams in Thawalama, Udugama, Baddegama and Nagoda areas of the Galle district, and 12 teams in Matara, Malimbada, Akuressa, Panathugama and Kamburupitiya areas of the Matara district are working in full swing to assist affected communities.</p>
