One person was killed and three others injured when a passenger bus on the Colombo-Awissawella road crashed into a house in Kosgamuwa, Awissawella yesterday afternoon.
A man(60), inside the house, where the bus had come to rest was killed in the accident. Two women on the road and a passenger in the bus sustained injuries, Police said. The injured were taken to the Kosgama Divisional Hospital, Saalawa.
“The crash badly damaged a nearby salon and a bicycle repair shop. The driver fled the scene following the accident,” police said.
The bus proceeding to Awissawella from Colombo reportedly veered off the road and crashed into the house.Kosgama Police are investigating.
