President Sirisena, in his Christmas message to the public, said Christmas was a universal festival embodying loving-kindness, and it was why Jesus Christ was regarded as Saviour.

‘This Christmas, which is celebrated by all Christians around the world as a universal festival, embodies loving-kindness.’
