Deputy Minister Palitha Thewarapperuma continued the fast for the second day near Kobowaka Bo-Tree in protest of a rubber factory in Kobowaka.
He along with the residents in the Kobawaka area started the protest demanding the closure of the factory. The residents in the area had asked the authorities for months to shift the factory to another location as it was letting waste water out to the environment without proper treatment.
