Former UPFA MP Sajin Vass Gunawardena's travel ban was lifted by the Magistrate till June 20 yesterday.
This is in the case filed against Vass Gunawardena over money laundering charges made to the CID in 2015 by JVP member Wasantha Samarasinghe. The case was yesterday fixed for further inquiries by Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayarathne.
Samarasinghe in his complaint alleged that Vass Gunawardena had violated the Money Laundering Act.
President Counsel Anuja Premarathne with President Counsel Anura Maddegoda appearing on behalf of Gunawardena pleaded to temporarily remove their client’s travel ban. Considering the request, the Magistrate ordered to temporarily remove his travel ban from January 24 to June 20. The Magistrate fixed further inquiries for June 20.
