The woman and a girl who were rescued by the Security Forces after the Nintavur explosions, have been identified as the wife and the daughter of terrorist group leader - suicide bomber Muhammad Zahran, Police Media Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara yesterday said.
“The woman is one Abdul Cader Fathima Sadia and the four-year-old child is Muhammad Zahran Rusaina,” Gunasekara also said.
“They were caught in the explosion that occurred following the shootout between the STF and Islamic terrorists last Friday (26).
The terrorists who were involved in the shootout had blown themselves up along with their children,” Gunasekara pointed out.
“The woman and the child are presently receiving medical treatment at the Ampara Hospital under Police security,” the Police Media Spokesman said.
“The woman and the child were identified as the wife and the daughter of Zahran by Zahran’s sister and her husband who are presently in Police custody,” Gunasekara also said.
