The Western Provincial Council and Governor Azath Salley handed over a cheque for Rs 1.5 million to the management of the Minuwangoda Jumma mosque to carry out renovations following the mob attack. The cheque was presented to the Chief Trustee of the Jumma mosque in Minuwangoda M.R.M Zavahir yesterday.
Salley said those who were responsible for the attacks should be punished for these losses and for contributing to communal disharmony. Salley said following the Easter Sunday bomb blasts around 98 percent of the perpetrators involved in the bomb blasts had been apprehended because of the information provided by the Muslims.
