Ratnapura Magistrate Janitha Perera ordered to jail an accused for five months and fined him Rs. 4,000 for stealing a mobile phone.
He was accused of stealing the mobile phone of a hotel owner in Kuruwita where the accused worked. Police found the mobile phone under his bed when they inspected a room of the hotel wherein the accused stayed.
Kuruvita police prosecuted.
