Mahaweli Development State Minister Roshan Ranasinghe stated that the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) will establish a government with a 2/3rd majority under the victorious ‘Pohottuwa’ (Flower Bud) symbol, at the upcoming election.
“In the past, the defeat of the ‘Hand’ symbol brought the ‘Chair ‘symbol and with its defeat the ‘Bulath Kole’(Betel Leaf) symbol was introduced.
The triumphant ‘Pohottuwa’ symbol which won two elections has now become a decisive symbol,” Ranasinghe said.
He was addressing a press briefing in Kandy yesterday. He also said that the Pohottuwa symbol has been accepted by the whole country.
Moreover, he said that it is unsuitable to change a symbol which continuously brought victory at two elections and the ‘Pohottuwa’ is the only symbol that can bring a successful outcome.
