Businessman lodges complaint with Mediation Board

A Mullaitivu businessman lodged a complaint with the Puthukkudiyiruppu Mediation Board yesterday against a Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Youth Committee member for defaulting a payment of Rs.20 million.

The respondent has been accused of not settling the said amount due for a bulk of electronic equipment bought from the businessman. This is the second complaint the businessman has lodged with the Mediation Board against the respondent regarding the same incident.

When the first complaint was examined, the respondent agreed to settle the amount in installments. The equipment was purchased to distribute among children of low-income families in Mullaitivu, he said.

However, the second complaint was lodged due to his failure to make the payments during the past three months. The issue is to be investigated at the Mediation Board Head office at Puthukkudiyiruppu on March 20.
