Despite the increase in LP Gas prices in the world market, Sri Lanka is one of the four countries in South Asia that sells gas at the lowest prices.
At the moment the price of a 12.5 kg domestic gas cylinder in the Maldives is Rs.3,250.
The price of a gas cylinder in Bangladesh is 3,082 rupees.The price of a 12.5 liter gas cylinder in Pakistan is 3,004 rupees. The price of a 12.5 kg domestic gas cylinder in Bhutan, Nepal and India (New Delhi) are maintained at Rs.2,344, Rs.2,058 and Rs.2,114 respectively. Market sources say that with the coming winter, there is a risk of further rise in world prices, which will affect all countries in general.
